A Week In Wellness - with Kirsten King

What does a week in wellness look like for you?

My ideal week in wellness includes a studio class or 20-minute at-home session everyday, lot’s of home cooked meals and a Sunday spent in the sun, away from technology with lots of thought-provoking chats with my family. There are many little things I strive for in my wellness routine, but when I have these foundations, I feel a sense of balance.

What is your exercise philosophy?

My philosophy is that in order for the body to work effectively, it needs to be balanced. I’ve created a movement method that realigns, strengthens and balances my body. This sense of balance flows into all aspects of my life, impacting my nutrition, sleep, social interactions and stress management. When we move our bodies to feel good, we start to nourish our bodies with healthy food, relationships and rituals to create an overall healthier and happier version of ourselves.

Which rituals are a non-negotiable part of your week?

Even on my busiest week, or if I am travelling for work, daily movement is non-negotiable for me. I take LivOn Vitamin C everyday to protect my immune system and when I need to detox, I will drink 1L of fresh green juice and make a big bowl of roasted and fermented vegetables, quinoa and homemade hummus.

I try to spend 40 minutes a week in my Sunlighten Infrared Sauna with a good book.

What is the best piece of advice you have received for your wellbeing?

To listen and trust my gut, it knows what my head hasn’t figured out yet! Our bodies are very intuitive, I am a big believer of gut-feelings and the impact exercise and nutrition has on our gut-health and emotional wellbeing.

What is something you will never do again?

Film workouts in minus 1 degrees with frozen hands and feet! (Although I probably would…)

What foods, supplements do you consume on the inside to feel good on the outside?

While I eat a very healthy and balanced diet, I do not follow a specific diet and rarely say no to anything! Food can bring so much joy, whether it be fresh, local ingredients I’ve picked up from the markets or a bowl of pasta at Bastardo, I feel my best when I find balance in my diet and am not restricting myself.

I take LivOn Vitamin C daily to support my immunity and will pick up a fresh greens juice 3 times a week.

I’ve been taking PEARL Collagen for over a year now. I add a teaspoon to my tea in the evenings. This keeps my nails strong and hair healthy.

I will try to do an Orchard Street juice cleanse 4 times a year to bring in a new season. This is the perfect reset for my mind and body. I am a strong believer of stripping things back to basics, lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and natural remedies to heal and feel grounded.
